So as the story goes, all truth and no sugar coating.
I received a call from a customer that has a bar/restaurant out of town about 17 miles. He told me that an ATM would really be helpful as there were no banks out his way. The next morning, early I went out to see "Fred" ( not his real name ) When someone gets an idea in their head, you need to jump, if you say you'll stop by in a few days or later in the week, they may already be calling someone else that seems more eager. I put on my best uniform shirt that I had and ventured out the short drive just on the outskirts of town to visit Fred's establishment. On the way I did notice a few more spots that would make additional locations if things with Fred worked out. I arrived 10 minutes early for our meeting and was greeted by a smiling and enthusiastic Fred. This is always a good sign, you can spot the guys who want to make money in a successful business. We exchanged pleasantry's and I got to my pitch. There really wasn't much selling here. I had that feeling before I ever arrived on scene. I always carry in my folder that is complete with pictured brochures and the most important paper of all, the contract. This is better to be called a "location agreement" This tell the client what the will earn and also what they won't earn. If you think that this new spot will be an under average swipe type place ( 130 ) there will be no reason to offer any sort of commission at all. If the spot reached the average and does even more, then yes they should receive a cut, and a fair cut of 50.00 to 75.00 per month.
I quickly went over the facts of the agreement and did a visual inspection of where the ATM would go. Where is the AC plug, is the Internet plug in close? These are better to know before you get on scene with your installer and look like a dope on only your second visit not having the right tools, supplies or equip needed for a clean installation. We planned for the install a couple days after our paperwork was signed, my host assigned a terminal ID and I spent 30 minutes with phone support in setting up my new ATM.
All went well on the install morning, we were in and out prior to their opening for business and we left the place cleaner than we found it. Always respect others place of business, even if it is the worst looking place you've ever been in. This pays off in the long run.
Now before we left, the money should always be preloaded so you are not flashing any cash any more than you need. We gave the owner his choice of a few ATM signs that we picked up from Amazon. These placed on the door and lit up in the window can only help and the cost was less than 60.00. It was a great investment to show the bar owner that we were serious about our business and wanted to make money just like him.
Now as we drove out and back towards town, I decided to stop along the way and cold call a few more businesses along the way to open up this somewhat rural area and make the trip more profitable with more business. I stopped at 6 places, 2 were a flat no as they offered cash back ( at a fee ) can't really blame them. I then proceeded to find 1 very hidden diner, had a great breakfast and then upon paying our bill, got the perfect chance to speak to the manager. She liked the idea but had to run it by the owner. I will stop in to see them on my next trip. The next 3 stops were all ma and pa gas stops with C stores, none were corporate chains, always a good thing. These all sold lottery and only accepted cash for lottery, none of the 3 had an ATM. It looks like I may have opened up a real honey hole out there. Time will tell and I will reply here with any positive follow up.
The story here is, always have a machine on hand that you can deliver in an instant, otherwise a 10 day wait may just leave you out in the cold. Make the decision, I'm gonna go for it, or I'm just gonna sit on the side lines and read all about other successful people.
One day I will tell you about the highest grossing location I haver landed and it was with an incoming phone call by Joe Conforte himself at 11:30 PM. The rest is history, but it is a great story, stand by for that one.
Good luck to all of you and for the ones that are ready to pull the trigger and get involved, we can have your new ATM account open and approved in less than 24 hours with your first machine shipped free in the lower 48 in a matter of days.
Here is your first step, write us here and we will introduce you to our office staff and get the approval process rolling. lasvegascoinop@gmail.com
